Sydney Beck

I'm a multi-disciplinary artist from Rhode Island who loves all forms of printmaking. My artwork is inspired by a pride of place specific to my home, Narragansett Bay. I am interested in the intersection of the natural world (flora and fauna) with culture (art, history, social justice) and community.

Experience

Graphic Design

I have designed logos and print media for a variety of clients.

Screen Printing

In the past I have worked and created designs for Periwinkle Printing.

Teaching Art

I have a Masters Degree in Art Education. I have taught art in Providence, RI to students at the middle and high school level. I also taught art, facilitated leadership training, and directed summer camp at the Orme Ranch in Mayer, AZ.

Meaning Behind the Brand

Bittersweet

Bittersweet vines are considered invasive species, destructive but fascinating in the way they grow. Their ruinous beauty is a symbol of a bittersweet perspective which can help people appreciate the beauty of the world, even while acknowledging the presence of sorrow and darkness.
